In the wake of the mass poisoning at Hummingbird Beach Retreat with Mandy in a critical condition, Martin reflects on his past actions and reconciles with Uncle Vern. With Vern’s encouragement Martin’s instincts are restored and he follows a lead that ultimately proves Mandy’s innocence and uncovers the Jasper’s killer.

The mass poisoning at Hummingbird Beach has killed seven people including Jay Jay’s partner Dev. Jay Jay is devastated by the loss and tragedy and announces to Martin her intention to sell her share of Hummingbird to her sister Denise, Jasper’s mother. With Mandy still unconscious, Martin reflects on his past actions and apologises to Vern, helping him bury the past and reigniting his resolve to follow his instincts. Martin’s investigation into Amory Ashton’s partnership points to a pattern of development proposals of Hummingbird Beach, each leading to tragedy. Tests confirm the Hummingbird victims had ketamine and fentanyl in their systems, leading Martin to suspect local drug dealer (and Tyson St Clair’s gofer) Harry Drake, who has conveniently vanished. Determined to clear Mandy’s name, Martin and Scotty trace Jasper’s last movements to a fishing shack where they find evidence linking Jasper to Amory’s murder five years earlier. Martin and Scotty work together to smoke out the killer by using the media to plant a fake news story. Mandy risks her life to meet with the alleged killer under the guise of extortion but nearly becomes the killer’s latest victim, interrupted just in time by Martin. Martin and Mandy finally reconcile with the past, opening up the possibility of a future together in Silver.
