The transport plane circles the city and continues to drop troops as Ellie and Jack leave the mall in search of a news story. Ebony, who we learn has pardoned Alice for killing the Guardian, instructs the Mozzies to collect intelligence on the invaders but with their leader missing, they won't take orders from Ebony and walk out. At the mall, Trudy is upset by Ebony's banishment of Bray and Amber and asks Pride to help get them back. Jack and Ellie observe the Mozzies confront the troops only to be chased down and attacked. Jack and Ellie rescue their leader, Dee, and take her back to the mall. Ebony and Lex are discussing which tribes they can get to help them when Pride arrives to asks for Bray and Amber's banishment to be lifted but Ebony refuses. When the troops arrive at the mall, Cloe hides to avoid being rounded up as is happening throughout the city. Jack, Ellie, and Ebony reunite at the mall and realise Moz, Alice, KC, Tally, and Andy have all been captured. Other than that, all they know of the newcomers is they're not adults and they're not friendly. Pride, Trudy, and Lex are headed out of the city to search for Bray and Amber when they see the intimidating pyrotechnic display announcing the arrival of the Technos. Pride and Lex rush back to the city to rescue May and Tai-San leaving Trudy to go on alone. In labour, Amber is alone and Bray is nowhere to be seen after leaving the barn. Trudy eventually finds Amber and comes to her aid. Ram, the leader of the Technos, keeps watch over the city using his security cameras as his men move through the city creating chaos. Lex and Pride return to the mall and learn that Tai-San and May are among the Mall Rats that have been taken. Ebony vows they won't be defeated and tells the others they must face up to the fact that their friends are gone — they're on their own now.©tzuk

Technos Jay and Ved observe the Mall Rats' arrival and are unimpressed. Ebony is awoken by a nightmare about Zoot. Salene and Amber speak to the assembled Mall Rats, militia, and Ecos about the imminent battle with Lex the lone concerned voice of opposition. Ram observes the growing opposition and regrets not dealing with the Mall Rats sooner. Tai-San tries to involve herself in the discussion but is blocked out. A deteriorating Ram comforts Java, his "one true wife", about his pending transfer into Reality Space. Patch gives Dee a good luck charm to keep her safe — the CPU from his first computer. Amber comes clean and admits to Ebony she has feelings for Jay but Ebony is too distracted by another vision of Zoot to care. The Mall Rats' assembled army leaves the mall with Lex a late addition. At the hotel, Tai-San pulls Java aside to find out what is happening and Java reveals that Mega is setting a trap for the Mall Rats. The army moves on the hotel but something doesn't feel right to Ebony who asks Jay to call it off but it is too late. Ram is angered when Salene is captured and has her released to encourage the attack. Mega gives Ram a new Reality Space headset to better monitor the action. Salene orders the attack on the hotel but Mega and Technos are waiting for the assault and easily cut down the attackers with their zappers. The battle won, Ram enters cryogenic suspension but finds Reality Space is not the the paradise he envisioned.

In the hotel lobby, the Mall Rats are celebrating their victory over the Technos. Lex is finally reunited with Tai-San and Jay gives Mega his due and explains what happened... The Mall Rats burst into the hotel and easily overwhelmed the Technos whose weapons were disabled by Mega. Meanwhile, a failed version of the attack was programmed by Mega and viewed by Ram on his new headset and while Ram thought he was entering his Reality Space paradise, Mega was actually wheeling him off to a muddy scrap yard.

With Ram finally out of the picture, Jay is ready to start work on his dream of building a better world but Ebony is upset their plans for the future have died. Leaving the others, Ebony comes face-to-face with Zoot who announces his Prophecy complete. With his bidding successfully carried out by the Technos, Zoot tells Ebony their work is only half done. He proclaims, "They gave you power, and now, as I predicted... now comes the chaos." ©tzuk
