When a young mermaid follows Ondina back to Mako Island after a mermaid council meeting, it could spell trouble with the pod. Ondina's news that they've been given until the next full moon to break Zac's connection to mako Island is overshadowed by the arrival of Neptina who wants to help stop the dangerous merman Zac. Neppy mistakenly traps the wrong merman putting Erik in the awkward position of being unable to help Carly get their drifting boat back to the dock. When Neppy becomes disillusioned with Ondina and swims away, she is on the verge of being discovered when Zac comes to her rescue.

When David sees Evie in the water as a mermaid, it puts Zac and the girls' secret at risk when he starts telling anyone who will listen about seeing a mermaid. Fearing discovery, Ondina asks Erik to talk to David in hopes he can convince him to keep quiet so as not to embarrass himself but David is not deterred — this is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to him! David becomes determined to prove mermaids are real and sets up a series of underwater cameras. Unable to go in the water, Ondina decides to give David what he wants and has Cam dress up like a mermaid for David's cameras. Sirena hates to see David subjected to even more public humiliation but his response surprises her. Meanwhile, Evie contemplates telling her father the truth when he wants them to dive together.

Mimmi and Sirena prepare a potion that helps the user to look younger. Rita applies some before a school excursion to the Marine Park, accompanied by Dr Ross, the park's handsome new Director. Rita is unaware that Ondina accidentally altered the potion, which now makes her act younger as well. Evie and Zac have to move fast to stop the excursion turning into a disaster, while Rita behaves like a young child, threatening to reveal the truth about mermaids when she decides to go for a swim.

When Mimmi loses her moon ring in the Ocean Café's cool room, it creates havoc for David and his brother's business. Zac volunteers himself and Evie to help her father with some yard work unaware they will be installing an irrigation system. When Mimmi is caught searching Joe's warehouse for her ring, Zac has a vision of Joe interrogating Mimmi and rushes to her aid. Afterwards, Mimmi admits to having visions of Zac. Their connection is somehow linked to Mako Island.

Sirena wants to help Evie overcome the Moon Spell but when the girls realise Zac and Erik are working together, Mimmi and Ondina rush to Mako Island to stop Zac from activating the chamber. Veridia, Head of the Mermaid Council, arrives determined to stop Zac at all costs but Rita and the girls intervene leading to the revelation of a startling secret.

Zac struggles to come to terms with the news that he's a real merman, that he's adopted and Mimmi is his sister. Mimmi refuses to give up on her newfound brother, but Zac rejects her. A confrontation with some local boys causes Zac to use magic. It looks like he's about to reveal his secret until Mimmi talks him down. Zac admits to Mimmi he doesn't know who he is, but the painful confession is healing. Zac is finally able to accept his new identity. Carly and Sirena organises a surprise party to celebrate the café's second anniversary. Erik takes steps toward mending his and Ondina's strained relationship.

Zac and Evie try to talk Cam out of competing, but he refuses to listen. When Ondina attempts to remove Cam's power, she causes water to be uncontrollably attracted to him. Now the race is on for the mermaids to find a solution before Cam's aquatic magnetism is revealed to the world.

However, while diving with Cam, Erik touches a symbol engraved into a rock and is suddenly transported into an empty void. Cam rushes back to inform the others who return and begin a frantic search of the island for Erik. Ondina's feelings for merman Erik have caused a rift in her relationship with Mimmi but with Mimmi holding the key to rescuing Erik, will she agree to activate the merman chamber to do so? Meanwhile, Sirena searches for a new look to match Cam's new musical stylings.©tzuk
