Nixie and a runaway boy lift one another's spirits. Compelled to return to Mako Island by the Moon Spell, Zac enters the portal to retrieve the trident. He is followed by the girls but when both Zac and Lyla grab the trident, everyone is thrown back out through the portal. They go to extreme measures to keep her from winning the audition but Zac realises what they are up to and levels the playing field, not realising the bigger picture. Discussing the situation with Lyla and Nixie, the girls quickly realise they must recover the ring lest there be unforeseen consequences should Evie wear it in the moonlight. Lyla convinces Zac of the ring's danger but he has no intention of giving it to the girls. Zac's parents host a lunch to announce a donation to the school's art program.
