Dee Smart as Alex St. Claire

Although Dee Smart grew up in rural Australia as one of nine children—well away from the leafy upmarket suburbs of Sydney where her character Alex was raised—she says "we both approach life's obstacles with determination and we rely heavily on our intuition".

Dee Smart trained as a classical dancer at the Victorian College of the Arts and as an actor at Sydney's Ensemble Theatre with Hayes Gordon. Her theatre credits include Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in the UK, The Promise at Marion Street, Desire at Crossroads, The Heartbreak Kid at Ensemble and Miranda at Sydney Theatre Company Wharf 2.

Dee's television credits include Murder Call, Wildside, Twisted Tales, Halifax f.p. and Home and Away. Her film credits include Welcome to Woop Woop, Turning April and Audacious.
