Scooter opens an office in the bowling alley, but spends more time playing pinball than attracting clients. In the meantime, Danny, who manages the alley, has been pursuing Melanie. He asks Scooter for advice, thinly disguising his motives with talk of a break-in problem. Scooter has no idea how to woo Melanie but doesn't mind if Danny wants to try. Melanie decides to go out with Danny because Scooter is never available anymore. Melanie hopes going out with Danny will make him a little jealous. However Scooter is too caught up in the break-ins to notice.

Scooter has a stakeout to do. Once again armed with Katrina's gadgetry, Scooter catches the intruder. It's just Freddy, a kid from the circus who's a master at gymnastics — and pinball. He's harmless — he has just been breaking in to the bowling alley to sleep and beat Scooter's pinball score. He offers Scooter some pointers on the game.

The next day Melanie and Scooter make up. Scooter has realised that even a top Secret Agent needs to make time for his friends.

He re-animates Melanie and Katrina then uses Katrina's gadgets in a showdown with Wilson. Just when Scooter, now operating with all the skill and precision of a top Secret Agent, overpowers Wilson, Mackenna steps in and steals the Micro-Sun controls. But it's Scooter, Melanie and Katrina who find Mackenna at the docks, and in a high-speed water chase involving Melanie and Katrina on ajet ski towing Scooter on a parasail, Scooter overwhelms Mackenna (by jumping on him from the parasail) and reclaims the Micro-Sun controls.

Mackenna and his gang are taken into custody and Scooter finally meets the real X-19. He's actually alive. It turns out he washed up in the Maldives and has spent all this time being nursed back to health. Then Taipan awards Scooter the best prize of all.
