Trapped by crushing isolation, the odd trio limp through the NZ alps towards a farm and steal a car. In Queenstown, Ray cuts up their passports and calls Morrison to lay out terms for the exchange. Lola tells David she'll buy him a ticket for the next flight to Queenstown, but she'll just have to find a way to pay for it. With Will's help they identify a shady local business and, complete with animal masks, hold it up at gunpoint. But the owner isn't the type to scare easily, and as soon as they're gone he begins his own search.

As Chelsea's past begins to make itself known in her present, Lola uses her performance skills to track down Ray's hire car and catch up with him. Josh Levine touches down at Queenstown airport where he's met by local Detective Dixon and their differences in style and theory are abundantly clear. When Ray overpowers the cop who pulls them over, Lola takes off after him. But she's not fast enough and she watches, helpless as Ray hands over the gun and Morrison ties up another loose end. Where are they? They're in the middle of nowhere, Vincent has them at knifepoint and Lola is reeling from the news of David's astronomical gambling debt. Lola thinks quickly and calls her "bank manager" Chelsea to arrange a transfer. Arriving at the bank, Lola meet Chelsea inside and begin a perfect charade that allows them, with a little help from Will, to shake Vincent and make a getaway.

Will comes clean to his mother and realises the magnitude of what he's done. David's wound is at risk of killing him so Lola takes him to the last place she ever thought she would go and must face the mistakes of her past in an effort to save her son. A nail biting pursuit through a thick forest ends in a grisly death, before Josh and Dixon hear shots and join the chase. It's not just the gun, she tells them, she knows where the bodies are hidden. She hid them.
