Stark: episode guide

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3

Part One

UK: December 08, 1993 (9:25, BBC Two)
Written by Ben Elton
Directed by Nadia Tass

"There's more mineral deposits in a bottle of fizzy water," is the opinion of the Aboriginal leader, but this doesn't deter a corrupt consortium from its aim of mining for uranium in a remote part of the Australian desert.

Ben Elton has adapted his best-selling first novel, a satire set in the final days of the earth as it is asphyxiated by industrial pollution, into a three-part comic fantasy filmed entirely on location in Australia.

Elton plays English writer C.D., a pommie poseur more in search of sex than noble causes, who becomes involved in the struggle to delay the coming of Armageddon.

Note: Stark aired in Australia on the ABC as a two-part miniseries on August 11 and 12, 1993
