1982. Rita and Ted are furious to come back from their US road trip of lifetime to discover their house trashed and a mystery harlot in their bed. Rita is devastated that Wolf has chosen Evan Lace over her, and takes her frustrations out on the sassy new dairy owner and mother of said harlot, although not every West feels the same way about the girl in the bed. Ted, eager to get back to work, is annoyed the rest of gang are happy to lead a life of flashiness and luxury. Ngaire, bitter and betrayed, drops an unexpected bombshell and all hell breaks loose when Lefty, rock bottom, confesses to Ted he's done the unthinkable.

Lefty calls in an old debt with Ted, who reluctantly agrees to a job, helping put right Lefty's wrongs. Rita is furious at a turn of events, and becomes increasingly concerned about Carol's spending. Ngaire is a woman financially unfulfilled, and McCarthy's morals are compromised. Back on the road, Ted is reminded of where it all began — how the gang got together, and how Lefty became Lefty. As the job proves dodgier than expected, the old friends turn on each other. But when the rest of the gang bay for blood, Ted is forced to look at his own mistakes.

Rita is growing increasingly concerned with Wolf and his party lifestyle. While he'd never admit it to Rita, Wolf is also growing tired, and his own ambition for bigger and better things puts a strain between him and his boss, Evan Lace. Evan, however is happy to keep Wolf right where he is — that is until Evan's suspicions mount, and lead to drastic action. Meanwhile, a blast from Rita's past turns up horny and broke. But what appears to be a mildly inconvenient house guest comes with more unfinished business than anyone could have bargained for.

When McCarthy's judgement is called into question, he becomes more concerned than ever about Ngaire's involvement with the Wests. But when offered an ultimatum, Ngaire is reminded of who she really is. Beating herself up, Rita questions herself as a parent and Ted is forced to put things right with Wolf. But a sexy chance encounter for Wolf could threaten to derail everything.

Rita finally has Wolf back, but not all to herself, as sluttypants Cheryl sinks her hooks in. Despite Rita's tricky efforts, Cheryl's going nowhere in a hurry. The young gang discover Bilkey in a very compromising position. Desperate to cover his ass, Bilkey accidently makes things worse for himself. A controversial new job causes fractures in the gang, forcing Rita and Ted to lay down the law. Carol enlists Sparky in her dreams of motherhood. And an unwelcome surprise means things will never be the same again.

Riana has a secret that jeopardises everyone leaving Bert betrayed and Rita murderous. While Bert deals with insecurity, Rita deals with his dirty work, enlisting the gang girls' help. Despite Carol's best efforts, Sparky is giving his new family the creeps. And Cheryl is all in as Wolf takes on a bigger role in the family business.

The pressure is on at work and home for Mike, as Shane knows exactly which buttons to press. Welcomed as a gang widow, Cheryl lets Rita know exactly what side of the law she lies on. Phineas expands his tiny mind, then loses it. Everything falls on Ted's shoulders when it explodes in Wolf's face.
