James' mother arrives on his doorstep from Wanganui and announces that she has had an affair and needs a place to stay. Marty's elaborate charade starts to unravel when Rachel insists on dropping him at the airport for his latest 'trip', and Maxine decides to pick him up from his previous 'trip' at the same time. Meanwhile, Nicole keeps trying to get Brad into trouble. Finally Brad has had enough and sets Nicole up with a cinema robbery, where she makes a fool of herself and gets arrested.

Marty is forced to come clean when he is confronted with Maxine and Rachel. Heartbroken by Marty's lies, Maxine seeks comfort from her sister who persuades her to seek revenge. Meanwhile, Nicole is given community service for her misdemeanour. However, when she finds Brad she carries out her own kind of revenge on him. When Marty is suddenly abducted, Maxine and Rachel finds themselves reassessing their feelings for him.
