No deal on Karvan hit

FOXTEL series Love My Way, the first pay-TV-made Australian drama, is not for sale despite interest from commercial networks. Industry insiders say the series, starring co-producer Claudia Karvan, has caused a scramble between networks to secure the rights.

Foxtel's director of television and marketing Brian Walsh, confirmed the first 10 episodes of the Fox8 series had garnered considerable interest from free-to-air channels, but said a sale would not be negotiated.

"We are enormously proud of the work that Claudia Karvan, the producers and cast have done in crafting this landmark television event," Mr Walsh said.

"However while other networks might like to have Love My Way, it is not our intention to sell it to a competitor."

Karvan, 30, created the drama with Southern Star's John Edwards after they worked on the Channel Ten series The Secret Life Of Us.
