Love My Way: articles

Mendelsohn's back

BEN Mendelsohn, who will play pivotal character, Louis, in the second series of Love My Way, recently returned from the US, where he filmed The Adventures of Beatle Boyin with Monk's Tony Shalhoub. Mendelsohn will be back on screen after a three-year break. He has worked mainly on stage productions since his last major film, Mullet, in 2001.

The second series of Love My Way picks up eight months on from the dramatic finish of series one as Frankie (Claudia Karvan) arrives home from overseas to find the lives of those around her dramatically changed. Tom (Brendan Cowell) is living with a new love and Charlie (Dan Wyllie) and Julia (Asher Keddie) have separated.

Karvan says she can't wait to see how viewers respond to the new series, which also will feature Susie Porter and Sacha Horler.

"The team that produces this show puts every ounce of heart and soul into it, and we're incredibly proud of the result," she said.

"We leapt at the chance to do series two. There were so many avenues to explore in the lives of these characters."

Love My Way this year won the silver Logie for Most Outstanding Australian Drama and dominated the TV categories at the recent Australian Film Institute awards.

The show won five AFIs, including best actress (Karvan), best supporting actor (Max Cullen) and best drama series.

For series two, Karvan again shares co-producer credits with John Edwards.

From January 26, Foxtel will repeat series one. The 12-part second series of Love My Way premieres on February 5 on pay-TV's W Channel.
