Love My Way: articlesClaudia's lead role is to be mumEXPECTANT Love My Way star Claudia Karvan has decided to put her celebrated career on hold indefinitely so she can become a stay-at-home mum and wife. "I've worked frantically for the last four years and now I just want to completely take time out to be a mum," Karvan confirmed yesterday. The award-winning film and TV star is six months pregnant with a brother or sister for her daughter, Audrey, 4. "With a second on the way, I really did just want to take time out," explained Karvan, who is relishing her new role as a stay-at-home mum. "I am developing a couple of projects but that's not like (real) work. I've been cooking, reading, watching TV, seeing films, going on picnics and riding bikes all the things I can't do when I'm working." Karvan briefly left home this week to help launch the second series of Love My Way, the multiple AFI-award winning Foxtel drama series which she produces and also stars in. The much anticipated second series starts on Foxtel's W channel tonight but it was all filmed last year, freeing Karvan to enjoy her pregnancy. The joy she has experienced as a mother has also tempered her career ambitions with Karvan recently rejecting a "great film role" because she didn't want her daughter to see her mum in a violent film. "It would have to be a bloody good dream job," explained Karvan. She will not even commit to a third series of Love My Way because of her commitment to raising her children and concentrating on family life.
