H2O - Just Add Water: articles

New series H20 filming on Coast

WEDDINGS are commonplace on Gold Coast beaches but the bride and groom who exchanged vows at a small ceremony at Tallebudgera Creek yesterday were not actually tying the knot.

The simulated wedding was being filmed as part of the third series of the highly successful teen television drama H20: Just Add Water.

An elaborate film 'studio' was set up on the sand with cameras and large reflectors, while the cast enjoyed a little fun in the sun before it was time for 'action'.

Meanwhile, beachgoers were being asked to roll up their towels and move out of view for the big event.

The show has returned to the Gold Coast to film its third 26-episode series -- it has a worldwide following, attracting audiences in excess of 150 million viewers a week in 130 countries.

Filming takes place at various locations around the Coast as well as inside the reef tanks at Sea World.

Former Home And Away star Indiana Evans has joined the cast for the third series, playing Bella, a mermaid who moves from the city and befriends fellow mermaids 'Rikki' (Cariba Heine) and 'Cleo' (Phoebe Tonkin).

Evans replaces Claire Holt's 'Emma', who has taken off overseas.

Filming wraps up at the end of April. The third series will air on the Ten network late in 2009.
