After their home is robbed for the third time, the Trevaller family relocates from Sydney to the small town of Waterloo Creek (population 143), where they've purchased a run-down old coaching inn, "The Help Me Through the World", which has more to it than first meets the eye.©tzuk

Episode 2

Jools recounts his first encounter with Elly, a ghost living in the inn unseen by anyone for over 100 years. Jools later finds an old newspaper from 1837 telling of Elly's disappearance and suspected murder. Elly wants Jools and his family to move out and Jools, wanting to return to the city, asks for her help in scaring his parents off. Mayoress Dulcie Dickson introduces herself to the Trevaller family as part of the O'Farrell clan's scheme to steal a treasure that is hidden somewhere in the hotel.©tzuk

Episode 3

Fergus O'Farrell barges into the hotel under the guise of conducting building inspection and declares the building unsafe, forcing the Trevaller family out. Elly believes Fergus murdered her. Dulcie pressures Fergus to get engaged. Anna tries to bring a little civilized behaviour to Waterloo Creek. Jools comes to accept Elly is a ghost and changes his mind about wanting to go back to the city.©tzuk

Episode 4

Jools and his dog catch Fergus snooping around outside the inn late at night. Liam boards his sister Bridget up in her bedroom to keep her from seeing Jools who she has a crush on. Fergus is intent on stopping all renovation at the hotel lest the Trevaller's find the treasure and pressures Sergeant Digges to arrest Jools' unlicensed dog. Jools looks into Elly's claim the Fergus murdered her and takes her into town where he learns about the O'Farrell family history from Horatio Digges. Elly vanishes in town.©tzuk

Episode 5

Liam invites the Trevaller family over for dinner on his birthday to get them out of the inn. Fergus has to pay up for Liam slashing Jacko's tires in a misguided effort to stop renovations. Elly rematerialises back at The Help after disappearing in town. Anna invites Jools' friend Maxie to visit for a few days. Fergus tells Liam about the treasure map hidden inside The Help that will lead them to "Mad" Feral's smuggling loot.©tzuk

Episode 6

Elly insists she's not jealous of Maxie. Fergus tasks Liam with disabling the boat bringing in the supplies for The Help's renovations. Jacko unknowingly takes the treasure map to the tip. When he notices it, he brings it back to The Help where Jools realises it might be a map and not just a doodle. Fergus then learns about the map from Jools' father at Liam's birthday party and sends his son to retrieve the map. Liam mysteriously disappears after Elly traps him in the pantry.©tzuk

Episode 7

Liam falls through a secret panel in the Trevaller's pantry into the tunnels beneath The Help. He stumbles around for hours before finding his way out. Maxie and Jools go into town to busk and Maxie sees Elly in a reflection. Jool's family celebrates his birthday.©tzuk

Episode 8

Waterloo Creek is running low on supplies thanks to Liam's sabotage of the supply boat. Elly reveals herself to Jools' mother. Fergus gets the Trevaller's half of the treasure may by taking Liam's advice and simply asking for it. However, after Jools learns about the treasure and map from Haratio, Elly recovers the map from Fergus. In return for hiding Liam's pig, Bacon, Jools asks Liam to show him how to get into the tunnels. When Jools' parents head into the city, Jools, despite only having half of the map, heads into the tunnels to search for the treasure.©tzuk

Episode 9

Dulcie is furious when she discovers Fergus has been sabotaging her music career. She uses the information to solicite a marriage proposal, complete with an expensive ring. Horatio asks his brother, the local police sergeant, to lock him up in the cells in advance of Foundation Day. Fergus negotiates with Liam to rescue him from the Inn after he breaks in to get the map. Elly faces her biggest fear to help Jools escape from the tunnels and they make a disturbing find.©tzuk

Episode 10

The discovery of Elly's body in the tunnels helps Elly remember the details of the tragic accident that caused her death. Bridget is the only person to heed Elly's message calling for help to rescue Jools from the tunnels. After seeing Elly's typewritten note, Jools' father interrupts Fergus' Foundation Day ceremony to rally the townfolk to help as well. Elly rejects her spectral parents' pleas to go with them, wanting to stay with Jools and lead him out of the tunnels. After Jools' parents fail to secure a bank loan to fix up The Help, Jools tells them about the treasure in the tunnels hoping that could solve their problems. The Trevallers and the O'Farrells agree to share their maps and any treasure found.©tzuk

Episode 11

The treasure is found but much to Fergus' dismay, it is not a chest full of gold coins but an old deck of playing cards. Jools is sure the playing cards are more than what they appear to be. With no windfall, Jools' parents put The Help up for sale, planning to go back to the city. Desperate, Jools tries hitting up the O'Farrell's for a loan. Sergeant Digges arrests Fergus on a long list of charges. Dulcie refuses to post Fergus' bail after he calls off the wedding and she and Bridget move in to The Help. Jools' mother meets Elly properly for the first time and learns that if the Trevaller's leave The Help, Elly must "move on" as well.©tzuk

Episode 12

Armed with new clues to the whereabouts of the treasure, Jools returns to the tunnels and finds a valuable old cutlass that was given to Elly's father by the Duke of Wellington after the Battle of Waterloo. Believing she's doing what's best for everyone, Anna encourages Elly to join her parents. Missing Dulcie, Fergus swallows his pride and proposes to her again. After Fergus and Dulcie's wedding, The Help Me Through The World has its grand re-opening. Jules' father tries to help him get over losing Elly and make amends with his mother. Anna encourages her son to write a book about his experiences but Elly and Jools' story isn't quite over as the first new guests arrive...©tzuk
