Ellie is a bit of a firecracker. She probably should have got out of The Alice when she was young. But she didn't.

She's also insightful, empathetic and grounded — people seem to gravitate to her. In conversation she has that rare ability to make you feel like you're the only person in the room.

Ellie doesn't suffer fools and recently the biggest fool has been her husband, Hugh. His affair was hurtful, but now that they've separated Ellie has discovered she has more inner strength than she gave herself credit for. She's managing just fine without him — in fact she's starting to flourish.

Sexy and self-aware, Ellie is a lot more than Toby's mother and Hugh's wife. Her work as a tour guide has always been rewarding but now her sculpture is taking off as well — thanks in no small part to her affair with Matt. Funny how an appreciative younger man can unleash one's creativity… It seems the future is full of possibilities.

Roxane Wilson

Roxane Wilson graduated from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 1993.

She has since gone on to star in television series including Stingers, Beastmaster, , Wildside, Murder Call, Big Sky, Common Law, Police Rescue and Echo Point, as well as The Alice telemovie and feature films Erskineville Kings (alongside Hugh Jackman) and Change of Heart.

She is also a stage actor with credits including Freak Winds, Finding the Sun and Practical Mamet.
